I Want To Get Rid
Of My Debt...NOW!
What
Is The Fastest Way to Pay Off Debt without Consolidation?
You've decided to try to pay off your debts
without having to consolidate, but you're not sure where to
start in order to make it happen in the quickest possible way.
There are several very varied and diverse approaches that can
be taken to make paying off debts happen quickly and yet still
avoiding consolidation. Of course, those who are disciplined
and responsible enough to make it happen best undertake these
approaches. The most common approaches have to do with
spending and spending habits. You must carefully examine your spending
habits in order to fully comprehend and take advantage of paying
them off quickly. Also, examining your spending habits can
help show you where, if any, there is any extra money for you
to put towards paying off your credit more quickly and therefore
avoiding consolidation. When examining spending habits, you
need to cut out any extras that can be done without, such as
eating out, cable or cell phones. Cutting these out will help
you in having extra money to start paying off your debts with
quicker. Of course you must immediately stop any new spending
on any credit cards, this will only increase the amount you
owe and make it harder to pay off the bills quickly.
An
interesting way to pay off debt quickly involves understanding
the minimum payments that are offered by the credit card companies.
Most of the companies determine the minimum payment to be 2.0
to 2.5 percent of the monthly bill (at the time of this writing).
For example, if your balance is $1,000 your minimum payment
will
be $20
to
$25.
Interest
rates vary by credit card companies. Some are higher than others
and others are lower depending on the original agreements and
offers. Paying off these debts quickly involves taking an overview
of all the credit card companies you owe and determining which
ones have what level of interest rates. Once you have
done this you will want to take the credit card with the highest
interest rate and pay that one off first. This means concentrating
any extra funds that you found when examining your spending
habits and paring them down into paying this credit card off
first. This also means that you will have all of what was allotted
to this original credit card payment available to you to add
to paying off the next credit card with the highest interest
rate and so forth, until all are paid off. This will work in
helping you to pay off your debts in the area of credit cards
more quickly by taking maximum advantage of your expenses and
income.
By doing this, it will also allow you to pay off these cards
a lot faster. You will shave off many years in paying off these
credit cards. This is all provided you don't add any new expenses.
This means once the credit card is paid off you should cut
it up and not use it again. This approach though quicker can
only be truly taken advantage of by those who are responsible
and disciplined. From here you can take any money that you
are now saving by having no credit card bills to pay any other
types of loans you may have, such as student loans. Therefore,
the money you save on one type of debt can be turned around
and be used to save on other types of debts. This, once again,
requires someone who is willing to work hard and is disciplined
and responsible and will not continue spending and therefore
nullify any savings you may be making.
As you can see, if you are very careful and thorough about
what you spend your money on you can get yourself out of debt
and do it fairly quickly without consolidating your debts.
Carefully examining your spending habits and exploring where
you can find extra money to put towards successfully and quickly
paying off your debts is the first step. After that, you must
be responsible and disciplined enough to continue on without
incurring any new debts along the way. Once you have come through
all this, you will see just how you can achieve financial freedom
quickly and effectively without consolidating and therefore
achieve it independently.
