Looking For The "Sure Thing"?

Doctor:

There's a girl in one of my classes who I'm really starting to like and I want to ask out. She shows some interest in me but it is hard to tell if she really is. She tends to laugh at most of my jokes and occasionally I’ll catch her staring at me.

Sometimes I hear and one of her friends mentioning these 2 other guys. I'm not sure if she has interest in either of them beyond just being friends although I do know she hangs out with them occasionally on the weekends.

I want to ask her out but I’m afraid if she ends up not being interested that it will screw up our friendship and it will be weird being in the same class as her. I had this plan that would help me find out if she has any interest in me. We both just started going to this club and I was going to ask her if she wanted to go to the next meeting with me, which is in 2 weeks. I figure if everything goes well I could possibly ask her then. What do you think I should do and I can make her more interested in me?

So, what you're looking for is the 100% secure deal, eh? You don't want to risk your "friendship". In that case, just do nothing. You'll just have to be attracted to her from afar and realize that you'll never have her because your "friendship" is so important to you.

My brother, don't be a jackass. Who cares if you "like her" or not??? What's the big deal? Being attracted to someone is a sign of maturity, not weakness. How you handle that attraction is also a sign of maturity.

Don't play games here; just ask her out. It's pretty simple really. In effect, by asking her to join you at the club, you're doing this; being bold, confident and the "Alpha Male", but frankly, you shouldn't even care what she thinks! After all, what's not to like about you? If she can't see what a great guy you are, that's her problem - not yours!

Get some attitude behind you. Go on, it's ok - you deserve it. Don't worry about what she thinks, just tell her that you'll take her to the club, and then you can both go out for dessert afterwards where she can "tell you her story". She's lucky to hang with a guy like you!

Could it really be that easy? You bet it is!
