Online dating tips and relationship advice from Dr. Neder...
Difference
Between Northern/Southern Girls
Dr. Neder,
I was reading one
of your articles, and found some advice you gave to a guy with
only an email address of a girl. I sent the same email to a
girl I’m interested in.
I live in North
Carolina, and I'm not sure that some things that work say up
north or out west will work in the south. Southern women are
just different; they are spoiled bitches to be honest. Asking
an 18-22 year old girl to go for coffee just doesn't fit for
this culture it seems.
I may be wrong,
but I asked a girl from New Jersey who moved here in the last
few years and she said a lot of the things that people will
accept up north, would be considered weird here. I'm just trying
to get your opinion on different cultures. Imagine yourself
asking a southern country girl so to speak, to go out for coffee.
It's just not common here.
Thanks! I do appreciate
you taking the time to respond to me one on one.

Hey Brother!
What makes Southern
women different? Do they have penises?
No, believe me,
Southern women ARE NOT different! Well, maybe in one way: Northern
women say, "You can!" whereas Southern women say,
"Y'all can!"
Ok, enough with
the jokes.
The only difference
is perception. Let me give you an example.
A few months ago
I met this woman from Georgia in a local bar. We spent the better
part of an evening drinking and talking. At one point in the
conversation, she complained that she hadn't been able to get
any dates since she'd been here, (in Los Angeles). At the end
of the evening, I said, "Give me your home phone number
so I can call you and we can continue this some other time."
I then opened my wallet to give him my card.
She said, "Oh,
I'm from the South, I don't give out my home phone number!"
To which I replied, "Oh, maybe that's why you can't get
a date!" Then, I pulled my business card out of her hands
and turned and walked out of the bar.
As I approached
my car, I heard her voice behind me, "Dennis! Dennis!"
she shouted as she ran up behind me. I turned around and she
shoved her number that she wrote on a napkin into my hands,
kissed me on the cheek and said, "You'll call me, right?"
You see, no woman
- Northern or Southern wants to be alone the rest of her life.
So, don't prejudge anyone's responses. You can only judge your
own.
Best regards...
