As negative as this may sound, pessimists generally bring with them negative vibes. They are like walking clouds of doom who bring a touch of gloom to almost every situation they encounter. You no doubt know of at least one person like this. I know one or more names just popped into your head.
Pessimists aren't that bad, really. However, they can be total downers especially when they are included on a team or in a group going through some tough days. Sometimes pessimists mean well; but no matter how much they mean well, they just end up bringing down the spirit and the morale of you and everyone around you.
Strangely enough, some pessimists aren’t even aware what they are doing. There are even times when they think that they are trying to help someone by relaying their negative views; but in reality, they are just making that person feel even worse.
If you’re finding yourself turning into a pessimist, don’t fret! Who can blame you? The constant stream of shocking events in this world are actually more than enough to make a person tilt towards feeling completely pessimistic and even helpless. But at the same time, you should know that dwelling on your negative thoughts repeatedly will do you no good.
Try to keep in mind that when you focus on the negative, you will end up being more worried and stressed out than you started. Dwelling on negative thoughts may also lead to depression. Worrying is like a rocking chair - you think you are moving but you are actually getting nowhere. Instead of worrying, why not put your negative thoughts aside, and try to think about what you can do to get out of your situation?
Being pessimistic also affects the way your day turns out. If upon waking up you already tell yourself that it’s going suck, then chances are, you will end up having an awful day because you have more or less psyched yourself into experiencing a bad day!
You have to remember that what you feed your mind, what you tell yourself, will affect the things that will happen to you in the future. You see, one way or another, your subconscious is affected by how you perceive your day will turn out.
The best thing for you to do is to try to get over your inclination to think negative thoughts repeatedly. Having negative thoughts won't get you anywhere. You’d be much better served by channeling your negative vibes into something positive so that you end up feeling less stressed. By turning your negative thoughts into positive ones, you will feel more motivated, more inspired and more empowered to attain your goals.
