My Life?
Yoga: A Natural Anxiety & Panic
Remedy
A good way to avoid anxiety & panic
attacks is to calm the body and mind through yoga. According
to the
Center for Disease Control, a panic attack is defined as: A
sudden bout of intense fear or anxiety that causes frightening
but not life-threatening symptoms such as a pounding heart,
shortness of breath, and the feeling of losing control or dying.
Usually from 5 to 20 minutes long, a panic attack may be triggered
by stressful circumstances or it may occur unexpectedly.
Yoga
is a great activity for you to reduce stress and to aid
in the relaxation of your mind and body. Your yoga instructor
will show you how to breathe deeply through your nose in a
standing position, allowing the air to flow in and out in a
manner that calms the mind and invigorates the body.
Yoga, exercise, stretching, and breathing deeply,
have a tendency to relax the mind and body. It is important
to remain relaxed
to avoid anxiety & panic attacks.
To do yoga, it is preferable to wear comfortable, stretchy
gym-type clothes and have bare feet. A leotard or sweat pants
and a cotton t-shirt is an excellent comfortable type of clothing
to wear when doing yoga.
One yoga stretching exercise is to lift your hands high up
towards the sky in a stretch; bend your hands down to touch
your toes; move your feet back and extend your arms into a
push-up position; then move your hips up to form an up-side
down V. Then reverse the process returning to beginning, come
back to touch your toes, then stand upright, and reach your
hands up in the air. These steps may be repeated several times
to calm and relax the mind and body. This yoga activity stretches
the muscles and is a healing therapy for your stressed or tense
body.
Breathing exercises through yoga is helpful
to avoid anxiety & panic
attacks. One exercise and breathing technique is to stand upright
with your feet slightly apart and lift your arms into the air
above your head while inhaling, and then lower your arms slowly
while you exhale. Repeat this breathing exercise 10 times to
feel relaxed and invigorated.
Another yoga exercise to avoid anxiety & panic
attacks involves using your abdominal muscles while lying
on the floor
in order to breathe more deeply. Lay down on your back on a
mat on the floor; inhale deeply through your nose and squeeze
your abdominal muscles in while expanding your chest as you
inhale. As you exhale through your mouth, visualize that you
are releasing all the air out of your lungs. This may be repeated
several times. This type of breathing is soothing to the mind
and body and is a good way to combat anxiety. Click here for fast relief from anxiety, panic and stress. All-natural product. Rated #1 in its class for over 9 years.
