Is It A Gateway Drug Or Harmless?
Most addicts start with marijuana as their
introduction to the underworld. It could be for various reasons.
One reason is its availability and popularity. It is really
quite prevalent in today’s society. It is widely seen as a
somewhat harmless vice. The substance has many proponents for
legalization. It is also used in medical purposes in special
cases.
Many
people can use marijuana and keep in under control. But other
people with addictive tendency’s are usually prone to taking
it up a notch or two after starting with what is thought to
be harmless. The altered state of mind allows one to justify
different vices that would never be considered otherwise.
You
are also introduced to other mind altering opportunities
by associating with those who distribute this illegal substance.
It is simply a process of up upselling you into new ventures
in order to increase profits. You become a pawn in the world
of
illicit drugs. In order to “fit in” with the crowd you do things
you know you will someday regret.
The
entire scenario is designed to bring you down with it. "Misery
enjoys company" comes to mind. Others will encourage
you to join them in their quest to escape reality and self
medicate. It turns into vicious cycle that never ends. The
loser is always you. When you are down and out, broke and hurting,
those same people are nowhere to be found.
Learn to recognize the reality of this situation. Identify
and solve the problem before you get to the point of no return.
There is help available as you do not have to face this alone.
All you have to do is ask for help and apply yourself to recover
from this sickness. It takes some effort, but the rewards are
priceless.
