I
Want To End My Addiction NOW!
I
Can Quit Anytime I Want. Prove It!
How
many times have you heard "I can quit anytime I want," as
the subject begs and borrows for the cash to get enough to
“get
on” again? Total denial of the problem will prevent any solution
from being achieved. If you are in this category listen very
closely.
Your
first step in recovering is to admit that you have a problem. I am not saying to stand on a box and shout it out…I
am saying admit it to yourself. You are the only one that matters
at this point. No one else can help you until you face the
problem. Many addicts go through programs not believing they
have a problem. They end up getting high in the parking lot
after a session. How quaint is that?
Admitting the problem and asking for help is a monumental
step in the right direction. But until that is achieved, all
efforts are futile. Recovery is based of being honest with
oneself and wanting to get better. All of the tricks and lies
mean nothing because you are only hurting yourself at this
point.
If you always do what you always did…then you
will always get what you always got. This may be a cliché but
it is absolutely true. So if you can quit at any time, then
why
don’t you. Help is here….face up…get right…welcome back.
