Want To End My Addiction NOW!
How
Cocaine Takes Control Over Your Life
We
have all heard the term “Monkey
on my back”.
The cocaine monkey can be the biggest monkey in the jungle.
It has taken hold of many and destroyed lives along the
way. Cocaine completely takes over your soul and is a sure
path to an empty life.
Cocaine can be used in various forms. Inhaled, injected or
smoked. Various methods are used in preparation for the different
forms. Some methods seem to be more addictive than others.
It has been proven in lab test’s that using “Crack” (cocaine
prepared to smoke) is the most addictive.
The popularity of Crack can be attributed to many factors.
First is that as little as five dollars can buy a hit to get
you started. Second is the instant state of euphoria achieved
from smoking crack. The high is instant and short lived, hence
the need for another hit.
This
is the primary reason for the strong mental addiction as
all troubles go away for the few moments of ecstasy that
the drug delivers. The first hit is by far the most
intense. An addict will spend the rest of the current session
chasing
that first high trying to duplicate the feeling.
The
addict will spend every bit of money they have to continue
the buzz. It is very common for them to sell personal
items, steal and prostitute themselves in order to get money
for more “rock”. The only thing that seems important at this
point is the next hit. This can go on for days if the supply
continues. Sleep is not an option for the crack user. Eating
also never crosses their mind.
At this point the addict is totally involved in a world of
deceit and shame. All the while knowing full well that this
is no life for anyone to lead, but getting out seems to be
just a dream. The next high consumes every thought. Admitting
this to one’s self is the key to recovery and going at it alone
is also very hard. There are countless support groups available.
All with counselors and mentor programs to help you with the
road back.
Any addict should know that there is help available. There
are people who care. There are those of us who have been there
and know what you are going through.
